Cell Culture and Immunohistochemistry Technician

GenomeMe is currently offering a Technician position for a reliable, motivated and detail-oriented individual. The successful candidate(s) will be part of the Molecular Pathology team for our complete line of Diagnostic Antibody products. The successful candidate(s) will have plenty of opportunities for fast-track career development while being part of a highly diverse, innovative and interactive cohort of scientists.

Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Apply technical knowledge and laboratory skills to design and perform various experiments under supervision from senior R&D scientists, including immunohistochemistry (IHC), western blotting, ELISA, and column chromatography.
    • Perform sterile cell culture procedures following standard operating procedures and maintain standard level for quality control.
    • Perform immunostaining procedures, including tissue processing, fixation, embedding, sectioning, staining, and analysis.
    • Establish a GLP IHC program and examine stained slides under microscope to ensure results are satisfactory.
    • Develop protocols and write related SOPs.
    • Follow established laboratory practices, and smoothly and safely operate equipment including microtome, IHC automatic stainer, microscope etc.
    • Collect and analyze all experimental records/data and keep them well-maintained and organized.
    • Present findings in meetings and contribute to project planning.

Qualifications

shortlisted candidates will have the following experience:
    • A minimum of BSc in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biology
    • Previous experience in cell culture and microscopy, western blotting, ELISA or column chromatography for at least 6 months
    • Previous experience in immunohistochemistry is an asset
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment.
