High-mobility group AT-hook 2 (HMGA2) plays an important role in chromosomal organization and transcriptional regulation. Low expression levels of HMGA2 are observed in normal adult tissues, while either overexpression is found in many human cancers such as pituitary adenoma, thyroid carcinoma, triple-negative breast carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, hepatoblastoma, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and etc. The elevated expression could correlates with metastasis and poor clinical outcome.
